Get ready for summer TV!

Happy Thursday to you all; one more day till the weekend!
Yesterday I promised to give you a list of the returning summer TV shows and discuss show renewals for the fall season.
Let’s start with our summer list. I’m not going to list EVERY show this summer just the sci-fi or “category: awesome” shows that I know I, and most everyone I’ve spoken with lately, am looking forward to watching, so here goes:
| Date | Show | Network | Notes |
| June 4 | [1] Burn Notice | USA | The spy-turned-good guy returns at a new time, 9 p.m. |
| June 8 | [2] Weeds | Showtime | I know it’s not sci-fi but it is funny and irreverent. I didn’t think I would like it but I watched the first season because of Jeffrey Dean Morgan and I got hooked! |
| June 14 | [3] True Blood | HBO | This show is a must for sci-fi lovers and fans of the [4] Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse novels. Visit [5] HBO’s site to watch season one! |
| July 7 | [6] Warehouse 13 | SciFi | New show reminiscent of [7] The X-Files and the warehouse from Indiana Jones. It looks worth checking out. |
| July 10 | [8] Eureka | SciFi | The antics of a small town of scientists and the Average Joe sheriff that has to protect them from themselves is moving to Fridays! |
| TBA | [9] Dexter | Showtime | Everyone’s favorite serial killer will most likely to come back in July or August. I’ll keep you posted. |
| TBA | [10] Psych | USA | What would summer be without Shawn and Gus? Most likely to return in July, but official date hasn’t been posted. |

Thank God for cable or we’d all be bored to tears in the summertime!
Moving on to a little farther in the future. The fall schedules have been released for each of the networks. Getting closer to the start of the season I’ll post a table with the shows and dates and such. I build a spreadsheet every year so I can set my DVR appropriately.
For right now I’ll just list the renewals and cancellations.
Renewals
| Show | Network | Notes |
| [11] Bones | Fox | We have another year of [12] David Boreanaz, yeah! Love that [13] Brendan Fehr has been on a lot lately too. |
| [14] Castle | ABC | Another one that was on the bubble but made it! I’m so happy we get to see [15] Nathan Fillion grace our TV screens on Mondays. Just wish they’d change the time slot… |
| [16] Chuck | NBC | Thank God! Unfortunately, they [17] only ordered another 13 episodes and there will be a staff reduction but this is better than nothing. We’ll probably see Chuck again mid-season. |
| [18] Dollhouse | Fox | This came as sort of a surprise, a happy surprise, mind you, but a surprise nonetheless. I’m glad they’re giving [19] Joss and [20] Eliza’s show another chance. The show really did improve as the season went on and I’m looking forward to the next season. |
| [21] Fringe | Fox | Glad they renewed this one too but miffed about it moving to Thursday. There are way too many good shows on Thursday. What were they thinking? |
| [22] Heroes | NBC | Season 3 was much better than season 2. I’m interested in seeing how the Sylar thing is going to pan out. New time at 8 p.m. |
| [23] Medium | Fox | Moved to Friday nights at 9 p.m. opposite Dollhouse. |
| [24] Smallville | CW | One more year left of the Clark Kent saga but now it’s on Fridays. [25] CW has split up the boys of Thursday night in favor of a new vampire-related show. |
| [26] Supernatural | CW | Next season is last year of the Winchester brothers too. *sniff* New lead-in will be [27] The Vampire Diaries. |
| [28] The Mentalist | CBS | Not strictly sci-fi but it sure is fun watching Patrick Jane shred criminals’ psyches. Moved to Thursday nights at 10 p.m. Honestly, how can we watch them all!!! |
| [29] The Ghost Whisperer | CBS | Moved to Friday nights at 8 p.m. I don’t watch this one (or Medium for that matter) but I know it’s popular with the sci-fi crowd. |

Cancellations
| Show | Network | Notes |
| [30] Eleventh Hour | CBS | Surprised at this one. The show had good numbers and good time slot but they still canned it. Of course, I hadn’t watched it lately because I got behind on the episodes and I couldn’t find them online to catch up. My DVR didn’t start recording it again after the holiday season mini-hiatus. Sorry, [31] Rufus. |
| [32] Eli Stone | ABC | I don’t watch this show but I know many people that do who were disappointed to hear it won’t return. |
| [33] Harper’s Island | CBS | No surprise here. I’m still watching it, when I get around to it, for Supernatural alumni [34] Jim Beaver and [35] Katie Cassidy, and [36] Christopher Gorham from [37] Odyssey 5. The ratings were so bad they moved it to Saturday and are just letting it play out till the end. |
| [38] Reaper | CW | Not surprised but disappointed. I haven’t even watched the last episode because it’s just that: the last. This is a great show that I think the CW just didn’t know how to market. [39] Rumor has it that ABC Studios may be interested in picking it up, though. I hope it’s true! |
| [40] Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles | Fox | Again, not surprised but disappointed. That was one heck of a cliffhanger to leave us with. At least [41] Summer Glau can [42] move over to Dollhouse. |
