Well, the fall TV season is underway and it couldn’t have come soon enough. I like that there are great, evocative summer programs on USA, HBO and Showtime but their seasons are just too short, leaving me wanting more.
This Monday “Heroes”, “House”, “The Big Bang Theory” and “Castle” will all be back with new episodes. “Heroes” and “House” are competing with two-hour season premieres during the 8 to 10 p.m. hours, which leaves me unable to watch “Big Bang Theory” at 9:30. I hate the fact that my DVR can only record two things at a time. I wish they would break that barrier! Good thing that CBS usually posts their episodes online so I should be able to catch it. I haven’t started watching season one and two of Big Bang but I will shortly. I’m really excited to finally get my Nathan Fillion fix satisfied when “Castle” returns at 10 p.m. Monday. I’m just sad that I can’t say the same thing about his “Firefly” co-star Adam Baldwin. Mondays will not be the same without “Chuck”. No official word yet on Chuck’s return but I’ll keep you posted.
So last Thursday I gave “The Vampire Diaries” another chance and I was still left with the feeling that it’s not up to snuff. Maybe I’m not the demographic they’re hoping for or maybe it’s just that in comparison to “True Blood” the show pales severely. Either way, I don’t think I’m going to waste my time on it. There are plenty of other things to watch like “Bones” which had a good start for the season, in my opinion.
*SPOILER ALERT*
If you haven’t seen this past Thursday’s “Fringe” premiere or “Supernatural” skip this paragraph. I wanted to say that I really enjoyed the “Fringe” premiere. I liked how they gave out two shouts to “The X-Files”. There was a scene where the bad guy was in the next victims apartment and an episode of “The X-Files” was showing on the TV. The closed session congressional committee also mentioned “X” division in conjunction with the Fringe division. I thought it was a nice touch. I’m sad about Charlie but I’ve been waiting to see how they were going to kill off that character for some time now. I had read an article somewhere with Kirk Acevedo stating his days were numbered on the show so I knew it was coming, I just didn’t know how or when. It was nicely done but I’m still sad that Kirk will be leaving. As for “Supernatural”, why are they splitting the boys up? I was glad to see Rufus, Jo and Ellen back in the fight but I didn’t expect Sam to leave the lifestyle as it were. I’m sure that Kripke and company have something up their sleeves. We get to see Lucifer in all his “glory” next week so be sure to tune in.
*END SPOILERS*
I haven’t watched “Dollhouse” yet because I went to bed early. Don’t judge me, I was tired. Besides, it’s sitting on my DVR patiently waiting for me. I’ll let you know my opinion later.
For those of my peeps who live in eastern Washington, please stay safe. There is an escaped schizophrenic murderer roaming the land. I’m glad my mom is down in the land of sand and sun of Yuma now. One thing less to worry about.

G Tom Mac has revamped his classic vampire tune, “Cry Little Sister” from 80s movie The Lost Boys to fit the swampy, bluesy world of “True Blood“. I’m not ashamed to say I have the original 80s version on my iPod and I can’t wait until this version is available for download on iTunes (contrary to what the credits of the video say it’s not yet posted, I checked).
So to get you in the mood for the season 2 finale of “True Blood” enjoy the video that features scenes from the show!

Sorry I haven’t been posting regularly. I’ve been super busy with school and work, and to top it all off I’ve had a headache for two weeks. When your head hurts the last thing you want to do is be on the computer longer than necessary. I bit the bullet so to speak and sought professional medical help this afternoon. I am always reluctant to go to the doctor unless I absolutely can’t take care of it myself. I don’t like using medication unless absolutely necessary. That being said, as I am now armed with prescription pharmaceuticals I feel confident my “tension headache” will soon be history. *big sigh of relief*
I just wanted to remind everyone that The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural start tonight on the CW. I trust you’ve already set your DVRs and prepared to settle in for a two hour horror fest (well at least 1 hour of scariness anyway). Can’t wait to see what happens on Supernatural! With an episode title like “Sympathy for the Devil” you know it’s going to be awesome.
Did anyone else have Twitter woes this week? My account was suspended, along with many others, because of some spam cloud attack; I was one of the attackees not the attacker. It was very disconcerting to be cut off from my True Blood updates so close to the season 2 finale this Sunday. The suspension was lifted a few hours after I filed a dispute, so I guess that was good. All of the people I was following now think I’m re-following them or something but again, it’s all good. I unlocked my account so if any of my readers here want to follow me you can reach me on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/mac_jedi. Because of my guilty pleasure True Blood role players addiction I tend to Tweet more often than I blog now. I’ll try to be better with the blogging.
I missed posting yesterday on the 9-9-09 as I intended because I was feeling mucho crappy, but I wanted to post a link to a photo of Las Vegas Mayor Goodman and his wife renewing their on the momentous date courtesy of Vegas.com. Ain’t love grand?
